About

Our Why:

Nursing education is being asked to radically transform so graduates are truly practice-ready. The Carnegie Foundation’s call to action highlighted the academic–practice gap and the need to adopt effective teaching and learning practices.

Our Mission:

Advance nursing education through three pillars:
– Thought leadership in curricula and teaching/learning
– Innovation incubator for testing and scaling new methods
– Creation, dissemination, and adoption of proven innovations nationally and internationally

Who We Are:

A collaboration between HealthImpact and Dr. Patricia Benner, bringing together academic and practice scholars to drive reform.

What We’re Building:

With 11,000+ new graduate nurses entering California’s workforce annually, we focus on preparing nurses for safe, high-quality care by equipping faculty, preceptors, and institutions with evidence-based approaches.
